Monticello, NY -- (PRESS RELEASE) -- Monticello Raceway's live racing schedule will change in September. During the first week of the month, live racing will be offered on Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday, with no racing on Thursday, September 2.
After the Saturday, September 4 card, racing for the remainder of September will be offered five times weekly, with live harness action on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays.
Post times for the Friday twilight cards will be at 3 p.m., and all other race cards will get underway at the usual time of 1:10 p.m. (EDT).
"After the first week of September we'll be racing weekdays only with no live racing on Saturdays and Sundays," explained track general manger Shawn Wiles. "The main reason we added a Saturday race card on September 4 was to accommodate the New York Sire Stakes 3-year-old colt pace that was initially scheduled at Batavia Downs, before they opted to forgo their live racing programs this season."
The Mighty M will continue to simulcast Thoroughbred racing during the daytime and harness races in the evening.
